Laem Singh Beach Phuket

Laem singh beach phuket1

Laem Singh Beach (the name translates as Lion’s Point) is located just 1km south of Surin beach and is approximately 25 minutes drive from Naithon Beach and its Phuket luxury villas. Once upon a time Laem Singh Beach was a hard to access, secluded beach,  now it has become practically a tourist attraction of its own, mainly thanks to articles such as this one!

Despite this it is still a beach worth going to see.  The beach is in a small, curving bay with rocky headlands at the bottom of forest-fringed cliffs and is among Phuket’s most beautiful spots. Parking is at the top of the beach cliff, just look for signs indicating the path down to the beach. It’s a short but steep walk with the odd view through the forest as you walk down towards the beach.

Thanks to its recent popularity there is quite a lot to do on the beach itself. Although in the past the main draw of the beach was its beauty (and this still stands) there is now also speed boat rental, glass bottom canoes, adventure diving, restaurants and bars, as well as an abundance of sun loungers and chairs!

Nature wise, there is an beautiful little creek that is barely visible from the road and oft overlooked by day trippers, and some interesting rock formations. Out in the sea there is a good variety of fish to watch, and great snorkeling opportunities, especially at the south end.

Thanks to the rocks and the jet skis at the north end of the beach this perhaps isn’t the best place for swimming but there is so much more to do that it isn’t really a problem, after all, there is the  private pool back at the Phuket luxury villa for that!
